The croquet court
The below drawing of the croquet court shows how the hoops (4 red, 4 blue and 1 yellow) are set up and played through in a kind of figure of eight:
At the bottom of the figure of eight is the yellow start peg followed by the two red entrance hoops. In the middle of the figure of eight is the yellow hoop and at the top are two red immediately followed by the turning peg that makes up the top of the figure of eight. The "circles" of the figure of eight are demarcated at the edges by the 4 blue hoops.
The passage of the court: To begin with, the two starting hoops are passed through, then the closest blue hoop to the right, followed by the central hoop. Then the blue hoop at the uppermost curve of the figure of eight to the right; then the two uppermost red hoops after which the turning peg is circumvented and the two red hoops are passed through once again. On the way back towards the goal, the closest blue hoop to the right is passed through first, then again the yellow central hoop followed by the lower blue hoop to the right. Finally, the 2 red starting hoops are passed through again - which now function as ending hoops - and the ball is shot towards the peg.
